About the case
AACD stands out as one of the main reference institutions in orthopedics and physical rehabilitation in Brazil, offering its services to people of all age groups. The organization has a comprehensive infrastructure dedicated to the rehabilitation and habilitation of individuals with physical disabilities and neuro-orthopedic needs, including an orthopedic hospital, nine rehabilitation units, and five workshops specialized in producing high-quality orthopedic products.
Annually, AACD performs approximately 800,000 specialized appointments, covering a diverse range of patients of all ages, with around 80% of these services being provided through the Unified Health System (SUS). Furthermore, the institution plays a crucial role in the areas of Education and Research, sharing the knowledge acquired throughout its history with professionals across the country. Through AACD Sports and AACD School initiatives, active inclusion of people with disabilities is also promoted, contributing to a more accessible and integrative environment.
